Steve Haymore, DVM
Dr. Haymore didn’t fall in love with veterinary medicine until after he had graduated from college and was considering human medicine. Growing up, he was his family’s animal person and raised racing and show pigeons, gerbils, and different lizards. He started working at Alpine Animal Hospital in 2010 in Chubbuck, Idaho. In December 2023, Dr. Haymore, along with other colleges, purchased Cedar Ridge Animal Hospital. He now splits his time working at both Alpine and Cedar Ridge. People rarely say they love coming to work every day, but Dr. Haymore thinks that regularly, especially when he is performing duties as an exotic veterinarian at the Pocatello Zoo and growing his clientele here at Cedar Ridge Animal Hospital.
Dr. Haymore shares his home with two dogs, three cats, and three horses, since his wife, Haley, keeps his animal numbers to a reasonable level. He and Haley have been married since 2002. They have added five children to their family. He thinks she likely married him for his phenomenal cooking skills, especially the perfectly seared steak he grills. Dr. Haymore’s biggest fear is that his wife will leave if he brings home another animal—which almost happened when he brought home their third cat.
Although his wife has put the kibosh on any more animals, Dr. Haymore would love to have more family felines. He is fascinated by these mysterious creatures, from the way they move and act to how easy they are to own and take care of. In addition to enjoying hanging out with his furry and human family members, Dr. Haymore has a blast hunting and fly fishing. He is an ultimate frisbee champ, so don’t bet against him.
Keep an eye on Dr. Haymore, whose goal is to learn new, upcoming veterinary procedures and to perform hip replacements on dogs to advance the level of medicine here at Cedar Ridges Animal Hospital.

Max Wunsche, DVM
Like many called to this profession, Dr. Wunsche developed a passion for caring for animals on his family’s farm located outside of Charleston, SC. Attending veterinary school was always Dr. Wunsche’s goal, although his route to vet school was a little unconventional, as he received an undergraduate degree in Packaging Science. After graduating from Clemson University, Dr. Wunsche worked as a medical device packaging engineer briefly before attending the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Wunsche is thrilled to be a part of this rewarding profession, as he is grateful that each day of work, he has the opportunity to enrich both animals and their owners’ lives. He is especially drawn to mixed animal medicine as he appreciates the variety mixed practice provides, and he loves the fact that no one day is the same. If you ask Dr. Wunsche what brought him to Idaho, it was the cutting-edge medicine and the quality people at Cedar Ridge that drew him here from down south.
Dr. Wunsche is an avid outdoorsman, his favorite outdoor activities being fly fishing and hunting. Wunsche brought with him his hound dog named Millie. On his days off, you can find the two of them cruising around on his motorized paddleboard. Wunsche is excited to experience all the outdoor opportunities this region has to offer and is especially excited to serve the people in this beautiful community.

Shane Porter, DVM
Shane Porter grew up in western Colorado and graduated from Rifle High School. He served a two-year mission in Oklahoma and attended college in Idaho, Colorado, and Utah. He graduated from the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Shane has practiced both small and large animal medicine in Colorado and Idaho. He enjoys working with pet and livestock owners to help them achieve their goals for themselves and their animals.
He and his wife, Mary Ellen, are the parents of five children. In his free time, he enjoys camping, fishing, hiking, and mountain biking with his family.

Seth Lundquist, DVM
Dr. Lundquist is a large animal specialist at Alpine Animal Hospital and a partner in Cedar Ridge Animal Hospital. He received his undergraduate degree from Utah State University and his veterinary medicine degree from Purdue University, and then stopped traveling, except to make his way “home” to Pocatello. With ties to northern Utah and southeastern Idaho. While growing up, Dr. Lundquist’s work life revolved around a family ranch in Swan Valley, Idaho, a local dairy in Cache Valley, Utah, and a USDA animal research facility near Utah State University. He has always loved working with working animals, livestock, and the people who raise them. Dr. Lundquist bases his veterinary career on his role model, James Herriot, always striving for excellence when treating animals, but also serving their owners.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Lundquist is still surrounded by animals, with a home full of critters, including a dog, cat, horses, chickens, rabbits, and small children. He wouldn’t trade his life for anything, except perhaps a quiet, solitary mountain river full of hungry trout. Growing berries is also high on his list of alternative careers, but he can’t see himself doing anything else than veterinary medicine.
